Annotation by Pierre-Jacques Goetghebuer written on a piece of paper pasted on the map. This note is stating a few of the owners of the castles depicted on the map: 'Jan Minnaert, Baillu van de burggravin van Gendt in 1635. Guill(aume) de Corenhuse fs. Willem, heere van Oplintere, pastor der parochie van Houthave, 19 feb(ruari) 1639. Gilles du Faing, Baron de Jamoigne, 1626. Antoine Triest, episc(opus), 1622-1657. This map was part of a book titled 'Flandria Illustrata', compiled by Antonius Sanderus, dated 1641. This map was formerly part of the 'Collectie Goetghebuer' of Archief Gent. This former collection of the 19th-century collector Pierre-Jacques Goetghebuer is presently kept at the Ghent University Library and City Archives in Ghent.
